11th Annual ALS Amelia Island Golf Classic

On August 7th B&C’s Chief Investment Officer, John Murphy, hit the links for a cure at the annual ALS Amelia Island Golf Classic. This event was created 11 years ago by Mark O’Day in honor of his father, John Louis O’Day, who lost his battle with the disease in 2002.
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and usually fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The mission of The ALS Association is to lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy, while also empowering people with ALS and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.
