Finding Your Niche

On November 7th, Investment Manager Adam Oerther attended the Southeast RIA Summit, a conference for financial advisors who work for—or are interested in working for—independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) in the southeastern U.S. Adam was invited to speak on one of the panels at the conference, which focused on finding your niche as an advisory firm and the advantages of doing so.

“I was excited and honored to speak on the panel, as it was the first time in my career I was invited to be on one,” said Adam, reflecting on his time at the conference. “I also believe our firm has some insights from which other advisors could benefit. For example, over the past year or so, we’ve been working towards identifying specific types of clients with whom we work well and building out service models that address some of the unique personal financial circumstances affecting those groups. Knowing common problems facing your clients is an important component of tailoring solutions to their specific needs and goals, and successfully implementing one of these solutions for a client makes it more likely that the client will then refer someone else facing similar circumstances to work with your firm. Ultimately, this was the idea I hoped to convey while speaking on the panel.”

At B&C Financial Advisors, we have a very diverse group of clients, each with their own unique financial goals and circumstances. Some of the types of clients with whom we work well are: retirees, business executives, small business owners, and young professionals. While we understand some of the common financial issues facing these groups, we also know every situation is different and have the ability to personalize each of our solutions to fit those individual needs. Personal finance is anything but “one-size-fits-all.”
