Team B&C wins BFAS June 13 Triathlon
Each year, Beaches Fine Arts Series (BFAS) hosts their annual Triathlon competitions to support the free services they provide our community throughout the year, including the BFAS concert series, receptions and exhibits, and educational outreach programs.
For the June 13th triathlon, B&C finished in first place. B&C’s team stats are as follows: Lisa LaBelle came in at 23m 32s for running; Sean Guldi came in at 44m 20s in cycling; and Patrick Higgins (non-B&C staff) came in at 7m 3s for swimming. The team’s total time was 1h 16m 55s.
“This was such an awesome experience for us – not only getting to connect with each other on a team, but all for a great cause,” said Guldi. “It means a lot to us to get out in the community and do some good.”
Training for a triathlon takes consistency and the drive to push your limits. This was Guldi’s third triathlon but first relay team. He has a background in cycling and running and has previously competed in the Gate River Run, charity bike rides, and corporate 5k runs. For LaBelle, this was her first triathlon and first relay team. She has participated in multiple races for causes as well as in the Armageddon Ambush mud run. She enjoys being outdoors, running, hiking, kayaking and participating in sports.
B&C enjoys giving back to the community and will be looking for more races to run in the future!
